When the client’s company, the largest sardine aquaculture operation in Central America, planned a new pier with two maintenance facilities for fishing vessels, they faced a complex challenge. One of the workshops, dedicated to spray painting, needed four overhead and gantry cranes to handle daily maintenance and repair operations efficiently. As a completely new construction project, the workshop required highly professional and reliable lifting solutions to ensure smooth workflow from day one.

The site presented several difficulties:

• There was no suitable lifting equipment on-site except for a truck-mounted crane.
• The truck crane could not enter the workshop, limiting its usefulness.
• The new workshop layout required a solution that optimized space and workflow while providing safe, reliable lifting.

AICRANE Solution: Custom Crane Layout for Maximum Workshop Efficiency

To meet these needs, AICRANE proposed a custom crane configuration:

• Three semi-gantry cranes, each with a load capacity of 2.5T+2.5T, a 10.12m span, and a lifting height of 4.25m, positioned along the sides of the workshop to fully utilize available space.
• A single girder bridge crane with a load capacity of 15T, a 27.14m span, and a lifting height of 7.5m, installed above the semi-gantry cranes to provide additional lifting capacity for larger or heavier loads.

This tailored setup not only optimizes the available workspace but also ensures versatile lifting options for a variety of workshop operations. Our engineers personally oversaw the verification, installation, and testing of all cranes, ensuring every detail was carefully managed.
