In Dammam, Saudi Arabia, a world-renowned precast concrete factory faced a critical expansion challenge: massive precast beams needed to be lifted and transported safely and efficiently, but the existing equipment could no longer keep up. Traditionally relying on top European brands, the factory was hesitant to consider a Chinese-made solution. Yet, in a bold move, the procurement team decided to introduce 100 ton gantry cranes from China – a decision that would not only challenge preconceptions but ultimately boost the factory’s expansion.
From the very beginning, the client factory’s technical team examined our crane proposal with extreme caution. Every aspect of the design was carefully scrutinized, including: rope safety factors, motor brands, weld quality, and overall compliance with FEM standards. Nothing was overlooked. Every component was placed under strict technical review.
AICRANE, however, fully embraced this challenge.
Led by our chief engineer, our design team carried out a comprehensive optimization process:
The final result was a gantry crane fully capable of handling the demanding task of lifting massive precast beams in harsh operating conditions.
After careful review and technical discussions, the client confirmed the order with AICRANE:
2 × 100-ton gantry cranes – for heavy precast beams, featuring high-precision dual-trolley operation, FEM-compliant structure, and optimized performance in extreme heat and sand.
4 × 20-ton gantry cranes – for lighter loads, with durable steel structures and reliable motors, designed for efficient daily operation.
This mix of 20 & 100 ton gantry cranes was tailored to the factory’s expanded production line, balancing lifting capacity, efficiency, and cost. With specifications finalized, our factory immediately began production and logistics planning to ensure fast delivery without compromising quality.
Once the order was finalized, AICRANE immediately moved into production. Each crane was manufactured to precise specifications, with strict quality checks at every stage to ensure compliance with FEM standards and durability under extreme conditions.
Logistics planning was equally meticulous. Components were carefully packaged for safe transport, and delivery schedules were coordinated to minimize downtime at the factory. From factory floor to Dammam site, every step was monitored to ensure the cranes arrived on time, ready for high-precision installation.
When the cranes arrived in Dammam, the team faced extreme summer conditions: temperatures above 40°C and frequent sandstorms, posing serious challenges to precision installation.
After multiple test runs, all gantry cranes in Saudi Arabia factory were put into stable production, becoming the backbone of the factory’s expanded line. They not only improved operational efficiency but also significantly reduced procurement and maintenance costs. For the factory, this bold decision proved to be one of the most successful investments.
For AICRANE, the project became a benchmark in the Saudi precast industry, demonstrating the reliability of AICRANE gantry cranes under heavy and complex operations, as well as showcasing professional expertise across the entire process – from design optimization and installation to commissioning and operator training.
This project in Dammam showcases how our 20 & 100 ton gantry cranes can deliver European-level quality, precise operation, and reliable performance even under extreme conditions. From rigorous design review and high-precision installation to hands-on commissioning and operator training, every step was executed with professionalism and attention to detail.
